The most exciting thing going on in crypto today is the explosion of interest in stablecoins as witnessed by the dramatic growth in their market cap. Tether’s market cap grew almost 40% in the last month:
and USDC (the Circle/Coinbase stablecoin) has seen its market cap rocket by more than 78% in the last two months:
Concurrent with that massive growth, the People’s Bank of China announced last week that internal closed pilots of it’s central bank digital currency (CBDC) will be conducted in Shenzhen, Suzhou, Xiong’an New District, & Chengdu. And other central banks around the world are looking in to it, potentially with the help of Facebook/Libra.
Given the exploding interest, we’re excited to launch Stablecoins Are Killing It. A monthly “event” on Zoom covering stablecoins. Episode #1 features a great panel of experts who will share their insights of this emerging asset class. We’ll discuss what’s driving the growth of stablecoins, what stablecoins are best positioned for future growth, what the entry of CBDCs mean, and why Ethereum is the dominant platform for stablecoins.
As with all our events, audience participation is an integral part of the show, with questions and discussions with audience members encouraged both during and after the official presentations.
